Q & A
-
Q: How often should one get a colonic?A: The frequency of colonic treatments can vary depending on individual needs and health goals. At Lafayette Colonic, we typically recommend that first-time clients start with a series of three to six sessions over a span of a few weeks to effectively cleanse and detoxify the colon. After the initial series, the maintenance frequency can be adjusted based on your specific wellness objectives and how your body responds to the treatments. For those focused on ongoing detoxification, colonic sessions once a month can be beneficial or with each season, depending on the individual. When doing a deep cleanse or parasite cleanse some clients have colonics back to back every day or every other day depending on their individual goals.

Q: How do I best prepare for a colonic at Lafayette Colonic & Wellness?A: To ensure the most effective and comfortable experience during your colonic session it is recommended to eat a healthy diet eliminating gluten, dairy, caffeine and alcohol prior to your session. Stay well hydrated drinking at least half your body weight of water as hydration helps the colon soften the fecal matter in the colon facilitating a smoother cleansing process. Many clients choose to drink a cup of Smooth Move tea which can be found at your local Safeway. No eating or drinking two hours prior to your scheduled session.

Q: What can I expect during my first colonic treatment at Lafayette Colonic?A: At Lafayette Colonic, we prioritize your comfort and wellness throughout the entire detoxification process. During your first colonic treatment, we start with a brief consultation to understand your health history and answer any questions you may have. The treatment itself involves the gentle rinsing of your colon with warm, filtered and purified water to help cleanse the body of toxins. You'll lie comfortably on a treatment table while a small, sterile tube is inserted into the rectum to allow water to flow in and out of the colon, easing the removal of waste. The procedure typically lasts about 30-45 minutes performed in a private, relaxing environment. After the treatment, you may feel lighter and more energized, as freeing the body of impurities can aid in improved digestion and overall well-being.
